Raspberry Pi 4 Setup
Install and run AutoFarm3D on your own Raspberry Pi 4 (2GB+).
Required Materials:

Step 1: Load SD Card
1.1 Format SD Card

Formatting erases all data on the sd card
Make sure you have backed up any important files before proceeding.
  1. Insert the micro SD card into your computer.
  2. Install and open SDCard.org SD card formatter.

  1. Format your card using the "Quick Format" option.
Why we recommend using the SDcard.org formatter

Your computer likely has a built-in SD card formatter, but they can be unreliable, especially if the SD card previously contained a Linux file system. The SDcard.org SD Card Formatter produces identical results on Mac and Windows computers, and works on any SD card, regardless of what file system it contains.

1.2 Choose Software
  1. Download AutoFarm3D for Raspberry Pi and unzip the file.

  1. Install and open Raspberry Pi Imager (download here), use v1.8.5 or newer.
  2. Click Choose Device and choose Raspberry Pi 4.
  3. Click Operating System and select Use Custom. Select the AutoFarm3D .img file you downloaded.
  4. Click Choose Storage and select the SD card you formatted in the previous stage, then click Next.
1.3 Network Configuration
We recommend using Ethernet. If you would like to connect using wifi please follow these instructions.
  1. Raspberry Pi Imager will prompt for “Use OS Customization”, choose No.

Do not set a custom username for your Pi.
It will not boot if the username is not exactly 'pi'.
1.4 Write to SD Card
We recommend using Ethernet. If you would like to connect using wifi please follow these instructions.
  1. Click ‘SD Card’ and select your SD card.
  2. Select ‘Write’ and wait until it's finished. Writing to the SD card may take up to 15 minutes.
Step 2: Plug Everything In!
Begin with Pi turned off and unplugged.
  1. Insert SD card
  2. Connect a USB cable from your Pi to your 3D printer (skip for Bambu Lab printers).
  3. Connect Ethernet from Pi to router.
  4. Connect power supply.
Your Pi will begin booting up.
